Here you will receive a warm welcome from the indigenous people – the Sami who are very spiritual folk with a wealth of fascinating traditions, folklores and rituals.
During the winter months there are just 4.5 hours of daylight which truly enhances this magical experience. The colours of the sky come to life and gleefully transform from icy midnight blues to warm terracotta and crimson to stunning emerald greens…if you are lucky enough. With the temperatures dropping to a frosty minus 10°c there is nothing more magical them wrapping up warm and sledging home under the twinkling night sky.
There is plenty of wildlife to look out for in Lapland – reindeer of course, and you will see lots of those. But it’s also worth keeping your eyes peeled – and your camera ready for Mountain Hares and Wolves!
